Roast Beef Over an Open Fire!

Townsend and son make some excellent historical reenactment videos. In this video they talk about cooking roast beef next to a fire. The video title is over a fire, but the roast is cooked next to the fire.

Tie the roast with some cord and make sure the fat cap is on top.

Suspend the roast next to a fire. The hearth in the video is an old style German heath. While cooking, bast the roast with salt water, or other marinade.
