What is the greatest crime against humanity?

Let's say within the past 1,000 years or so, what has been the greatest crime against humanity?

Couple of things that come to mind are the holocaust and slavery, both of which were terrible.

My personal opinion, the worst crime against humanity is the burning of books. The act of burning books deprives future generations of knowledge. A thousand years from now how will we know about the holocaust and slavery, but through books. If the books are burned, then we lose our history.

Socialism and social liberalism post WW2. From the expansion of government, revision of history, the attack on white males, destruction of the family unit, the war on religion and morals/ethics, anti gun which leads to anti other rights, discouragement of self reliance, to the crackdown on creativity and critical thinking in schools.
